Streamline Water Efficiency Assessments for Small to Medium Water Using Businesses

This project has been assisted by funds from Sydney Water's Every Drop Counts Business Program

Sydney Water has partnered with several Council's across Sydney to offer free water efficiency assessments, which Parramatta City Council are delivering as part of the Streamline Sustainable Business Program. Streamline Water Efficiency Assessments are targeted at businesses that use between 10 and 80kL of water a day with the aim of reducing water use by at least 15%

Businesses participating in the program get:

  • A free water use assessment of their business/ site and a full report outlining cost effective ways to increase water efficiency.
  • Assistance with identifying and fixing water leaks
  • Assistance in implementing recommendations made in the report, including help with funding retrofits.
  • Ongoing advice and access to the latest technologies.
  • Assistance with registering for other programs (if interested) which target waste and energy efficiency.

Savings of more than 163kL of water per day and $105,000 per year have been identified within those businesses that have participated in the program to June 2011.

Eligible businesses have come from a wide range of sectors including commercial, manufacturing, heavy industry, warehousing and distribution, hospitality and retail.

A variety of fact sheets and brochures are available on the Sydney Water website  to assist your business with becoming more water efficient.

You can also access business case studies  and Best Practice Guidelines for a range of industries to help you save water and money and gain a competitive advantage by achieving best practice in water management.
